SMCS Book Fund and SMCS Newsletter

Dear Members and current students,

We are delighted that the 2014-15 newsletter is now published online and with paper copies being delivered presently. We hope you all enjoy this publication and invite any and all to contribute stories and news for next year’s.

Separately, the Book Fund opened for applications on the 9th November and will remain open until the 30th. All current Mary’s students are eligible; please visit the Book Fund page for more details.

Two weeks until the Reunion – book now!

There are just two weeks left until the 2015 Reunion! Don’t miss out and book nowThis year, the Reunion coincides with the Durham Heritage Weekend so there’s even more going on in and around Mary’s!

Note: There’ll be an Afternoon Tea – with cream and scones – on Saturday afternoon, that you won’t want to misss. It’ll be free to all those coming to the Reunion, but it would be helpful if you could let us know if you’d like to come, especially if you’re not booked into other meals, so that we can have an indication of numbers for catering purposes.

PLEASE LOOK AT THE PROGRAMME AND BOOKING FORM HERE. IN ADDITION TO THE RANGE OF EVENTS WE HAVE GOING ON IN COLLEGE, THERE WILL BE MANY EVENTS GOING ON AROUND DURHAM AS PART OF THE HERITAGE WEKEEND.

This will be free to all those coming to the Reunion, but it would be helpful if you could let us know if you’d like to come, especially if you’re not booked into other meals, so that we can have an indication of numbers for catering purposes. It’s a wonderful chance to relax, meet friends, and enjoy a bit of indulgence.

Reunion 2015 – Menu Announced!

The menu for the 2015 St Mary’s College Society Reunion Dinner has been announced!

Starter

Toasted butter brioche with sautéed wild mushrooms, poached hens eggs and hollandaise sauce

Main Course

Marinated char grilled lamb rump with a polenta chips, confit tomatoes, asparagus and sauce verge

Chargrilled polenta with confit tomatoes, asparagus, tender stem brocolli and chive beurre blanc

Desert

White chocolate mousse with macerated strawberries and strawberry ice cream

Local cheese with grapes, celery and biscuits
