Informal Visits

Please note that at present, and until further notice, visits to college are not possible, due to the College’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

If you find yourself in Durham, please do call in to the college.  You do not need to book to do this and college staff are always pleased to see members back at Mary’s. However, if you do book there will usually be somebody around to show you any changes and have a chat about College today.

To aid such visits St Mary’s has disabled access routes which may not have been present when some members were students.

If you would like to eat in the college as part of your visit, we ask that you contact Reception (0191 334 5719) in advance to avoid disappointment. There may be occasions when college events will dictate this is not possible, but on many term time days it is possible to accommodate alumni.

Additionally, members have the opportunity to stay in the college during the reunion weekend and may be able to book bed and breakfast accommodation at times of year when students are not resident.  Contact reception to enquire.

If you would like to become more involved in College life and live reasonably close by you could apply to become a member of the Senior Common Room. Please follow this link to the SCR webpages. The SCR have a range of events within college and in the Durham area throughout the year and welcome enquiries from potential new members.
